Slomhaugen
This is a picture of Slomhaugen where my Great Grandfather George Haugen grew up. George left his name Jorgen behind when he came to America. The house on the left of the picture was built by Jorgen Slomhaugen around 1900 before he traveled to America. I'm unclear as to whether George himself built this house or if it was built by his father. Does anyone know? Thank you Mary Ann for copying it. It was a gift from Cousin Karl who visited Minnesota last October.

According to my records George (Jorgen) came to the US in 1893, so either the builder is different or the year (1900) is incorrect. Or perhaps George made a trip back to Norway before getting married in 1902. Either way, the picture is very cool!
